Dr. Ricardo Ubillus Honored With 2009 Frist Humanitarian Award

NEW Port Richey, Florida – (November 19, 2009) Community Hospital, the future Medical Center of Trinity, has bestowed the Frist Humanitarian Award to cardiologist Ricardo Ubillus, M.D.

Dr. Ubillus, board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine, was honored with Frist Humanitarian Award for his concern with the health and wellbeing of his patients, his commitment to the Community Hospital healthcare team and his spirit of volunteerism to the community.

Established in 1971, the Frist Humanitarian Award was named in honor of Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. (1910-1998), one of the original founders of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). The Award recognizes individuals whose daily dedication and care giving epitomize the highest standards of quality and personal commitment. Each year, the Award honors outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities, and to recognize employees, volunteers, and physicians at HCA facilities.

Three national awards are given annually, with the physician award just added in 2008. Each facility selects three local recipients and submits their nomination packets to the home office for consideration at the national level. To receive the national Frist Humanitarian Award is the company’s highest honor.
